Lara is a masters-level counseling intern from Johns Hopkins University with a clinical concentration.  


Lara offers a person-centered, strengths-based, and holistic approach to therapy by implementing techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and existential therapies.


She has experience working with patients dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship issues, trauma, breakups, divorce, and difficult life transitions. Lara feels honored to work collaboratively with her patients to empower them to skillfully cope with their current stressors and better understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and actions.


Lara was born and raised in Brazil. She is open to seeing patients who speak English, Portuguese, or German, according to their preference.


Beyond clinical work, Lara enjoys cooking, rock climbing, spending quality time with loved ones, finding new coffee shops, and relaxing in nature with a good book.
